About Volunteer

Experience is perhaps our strongest area of expertise.  Since 1976 our company has been servicing the High Country of Tennessee and North Carolina.

Volunteer Floor Covering is still co-owned and operated by one of the two original owners of the company, John Edney. Today, a new generation of family has stepped in to fill the void of John’s father, Clyde Edney, after his departure. Family member Rob Honeycutt is now the second half of this close-knit enterprise.
Since opening in 1976, Volunteer Floor Covering has kept the practices of honesty, hard work and dedication: strong values we know are necessary for a successful business. Although John and Rob pride themselves on practicing these time honored keys to success, make no mistake about our company’s ability to adapt to change. With a modern 3,000 square foot showroom filled with choices from today’s top flooring manufacturers such as Mohawk, Shaw, Mannington, and Dream Weaver, Volunteer offers a variety of choices that are competitive with any of today’s big box chain retailers. Any type of flooring you desire is available.

Our 10,000-square-foot warehouse is filled with literally hundreds of choices. From various carpet manufacturers, to vinyl by Armstrong and Mannington, traditional flooring is literally at the buyer’s fingertips. We also offer a huge selection of hardwood floors, ceramic tile and laminate. The latest addition to the showroom is one that will capture a decorator’s heart: a grand display of area rugs by both Shaw and United Weavers.
Whatever you’re searching for, our friendly staff here at Volunteer Floor are just a short drive or a phone call away.
